I would like to know how much my pension is worth
To see how much your pension is worth, you will need to log in to your pension account. Once logged in, you will have a number of options available to you:
Annual benefit statement
Your annual benefit statement is a yearly statement detailing the value of your pension benefits at 31 March each year. It also provides you with information about what would be paid to your family, if you die in service, and a projection of what benefits you would receive at your normal pension age, based on your current earnings.
You can view your statement by logging in to your account, at the top of this page.
Once logged in, click the ‘Benefit statements’ option found under ‘Pension benefits’, on your dashboard.
All future statements will be available via your pension account, from 31 August each year. All statements from 2015 onwards will be available for you to view, at any time, by logging into your account.
Please note: you will not receive a paper copy of your benefit statement.
If you would like something more up to date, we have provided a facility that allows you to obtain an estimate of your retirement benefits any time you like, as many times as you like, directly from your pension account.
Our benefit projectors allow you to check your benefits immediately, at the touch of a button, from any location. No e-mails; no post; just information direct to your screen, providing you with a quick, convenient and secure way to check your retirement benefits.
You can use our ‘Benefits projector’ to:
- calculate the current value of your pension benefits
- run ‘what if?’ scenarios using different retirement dates and earnings
- see what frozen benefits you would have, if you left without retiring
- see what your family will receive, if you die whilst an active member
Using your computer, phone or tablet, simply log into your account at the top of this page. Once you have logged in, click the ‘Benefit projectors’ option found under ‘Pension benefits’, on your dashboard.
If you require a paper copy of your benefit estimate, please complete and send us a Member Estimate Request form, available on the ‘Forms and Resources’ page within your account. Please note, you will need to log into your account to obtain this form.
Please note that paper estimates are limited to one request per year and will only be provided where the relevant date for the estimate is within 12 months of the request. If the relevant date is more than 12 months away, you will need to use the benefit projector.
A guide called the 'Annual Benefit Statement Explanatory Notes' is available on the Forms and Resources page to assist with the above.
If you’re thinking about planning your retirement, the LGPS have put together a guide to help you with all the things you may want to consider before you retire.
